Acceleration vs. Speed

Picture this : You’re driving your car along a long empty road

You’re coasting,

It’s great weather,

It’s a good day,

It’s calm,

You have a destination with a long way to go,

Calm but boring..

For some excitement,

You decide to floor the accelerator,

The engine roars and your head backs into the head rest,

Your grip on the wheel tightens,

The wind is louder than ever,

You hold your breath..

And then you let go of the gas,

The car rolls off momentum,

You feel everything start to calm,

The music comes back,

Your grip loosens,

Your foot sits at rest,

You breath a sigh of relief..

It may feel boring again..

But for those 5 seconds, fun wasn’t it?

Those 5 seconds is where the entire experience is felt.

What you felt was the experience of acceleration,

It was uncertain,

It was a rush,

It was exciting,

Most of us want to speed up to a better life and coast at your new speed on the open road..

You’d accelerate, hit the speed of life and coast.

But after some time the new life just feels like normal speed again.

In your car, and in life..

You don’t feel the speed,

You feel the acceleration.

Life is felt in the acceleration.

If you’re an ambitious person, you’re always envisioning a life better than the current.

A life that requires new habits, new rules, new information and new skills.

So you change pace and begin to chip away at the menial day to day things,

You workout,

You read,

You eat clean,

You sleep well,

You hydrate,

But most times you feel like the life you want is on the other side of some mountain⛰️ ..

So eager to live in the 200mph life,

A life that feels blissful,

Satisfying,

With no problems,

And time for what you love.

But ask anybody’s who’s living a life you’d desire,

And they’ll tell you endless stories of what it took to get there.

So if you’re accelerating to your new speed,

Your new self,

Your new life,

This acceleration is where life is felt,

So sink in to your seat,

Take a breath,

Don’t let off the gas just yet,

Remember these times when you’re sitting comfortably at your new speed of life.

& If you want to live a fulfilling, wholesome, heart felt life,

Keep Accelerating.
