How To Turn Your Workout Mental

It’s an interesting thing to think about the mental and emotional benefits to working out..

Its easy to feel mundane, routine, or just “ticking a box” when it comes to your workouts..

And that’s where I was, it was becoming harder to get to the gym because it just wasn’t feeling good..

And it ended up showing up physically..

No progress, no gains, no strength gains..

But as of late, something changed for me.

Now I can feel the benefits of working out aside from being sore..

I haven’t been able to feel this feeling for years, and it’s helping me and quickly becoming the lasting solution I was looking for all this time..

2 Ways to turn your workout mental, and reap all the benefits of working out.

THE FIRST WAY, is to create a long enough challenge that will make you uncertain if you’ll complete it.

Remember I talked about Suckfest? 27 Miles, 4,080 reps? Yeah I was certain I was going to start down that road, very much uncertain that I was going to cross the finish line.
Well, secretly I knew I’d be crossing the finish line, I just wasn’t sure the condition I’d be in.. or how long it’d take haha, but wether I was crawling across it, or if it was already the next day, I was certain I’d be crossing the finish line.

You go to that place where things suck, it starts out fun, fast pace, and exciting knowing your making progress and really fast at that..

But quickly turns to aches and pains, and a slower pace.
THERE, RIGHT THERE, is where you begin to have conversations with yourself..

You find out about who you are, naked, with no excuses, 2 options, keep going or quit.
The reason quitting ends up bec on Img so crucial, is because you’ll hear yourself have excuses

”I might hurt myself..”

“This was good enough..”

”I’m good on this..”

and you’ll listen to yourself! That little bitch voice that talks yourself out of EVERYTHING you do!

When you want to have a hard conversation that needs to be had, “I’m good..”

When you want to love up your spouse with something heartfelt, you put in half the thought you wanted to and say “This is good enough..”

Your little side hustle you know you should implement more and pour into, you say “This might hurt, this is good right here..”

It’s like it’s riding shotgun, and you’re trying to drive but it’s always throwing out little bullshit ass unnecessary comments.. “Turn here.. watch out.. too fast..”

Tie that motherfucker up and throw him in the trunk!
The voice in the trunk that’s tied up and muffled all your life was in the trunk the whole time trying to get to you saying “Keep going! Don’t quit! Keep that promise! Go harder! “
Untie that beautiful guy, and put him in the front seat!

Doing a long grueling workout that requires some real time commitment, is one of the ways to address that bitch voice and shut him up for good.

THE SECOND WAY! And this is the method I’m choosing as of late, and it’s been crazy to feel.
LIFT SOME FUCKING HEAVY SHIT..

Haha no other way to say it, stay in the 4-6 rep range

Dont worry about “feeling the muscle” there’s time and place for that..

Im not saying go out there and rep out some terrible form, but maybe just regard that a little less.
FUCKING PICK UP SOME SHIT THAT SCARES YOU A LITTLE WHEN YOU PICK IT UP.. LIFT THAT SHIT AND GO FOR 4!
You get this wide eyed, crazy boost in hormones, your brain is firing off neurons like crazy, and when you over come those fucking weights, you feel AMAZING..

Nobody could take it away from you, YOU did that..

You should almost feel fear in every work out.
Pnce you do that, you’ll feel this weird feeling of like “how hard can I actually go??”

And you’ll realize quickly, that you’ve been holding yourself back with just how strong you are. What you’re capable of.

And guess what, that shows up everywhere as well.

Go and crush your workouts! And incorporate these in and let me know how you make progress!
