Quarantine Revelations

Yesterday, as I was finishing up my cardio,

I walk in a quiet neighborhood, known for nice homes, and scenic views, a little bit off the beaten path of tradition Hollywood scenery.

Its an area of LA, the neighborhood, Mount Olympus.

And I noticed, a couple more than usual “For Sale” signs..

And as expected, more of the usual kids and families doing mundane tasks like washing their car or watering the plants..

And the topic of our economy, and mandates and quarantine, was added to that thought &

I stumbled on an interesting question

that I just had to wonder,

How many “bad” events away are you from being at zero?

How many unexpected situations, are you away, from being taken out

Before you start telling the story, “I was winning, I was up, until THIS happened”

Because I’ve realized through all of this,

The game we’re playing is really somewhat for security

I see “success” in many different ways, one of them is this.

Who are you living for?

Yourself?

Building a foundation for yourself, for your future kids?

Futures kids kids?

Your parents who will inevitably get old and sick?

The world you create when YOU close your eyes?

To create solutions for your fellow humans?

Or are you living to show up your friends in Highschool?

To be the most successful guy on your block?

Or the most thriving person only you know?

There’s no nobility in being “the guy”

buying everyone drinks,

and covering dinner,

or giving extravagant gifts,

If you’re truly just one or a couple crazy events from being right where you were or even worse

I believe this quarantine revealed,

that one of the games were truly playing is,

Not how much can you acquire

But

How much you can take, and how efficiently you can patch the holes that were unexpectedly made to your boat.
