The REAL Reason You Struggle To Make Progress

If you’re always in loops of progress and then feeling like shit..

You likely never feel attached to your goal..

You likely never feel present in the day to day..

You’re probably relying on excitement to execute the habits..

You likely have a hard time staying consistent.

Here’s the thing, you’re consistent in your response to triggers.

You sure as hell scroll past a good post and convince yourself you need that for lunch or dinner.

You sure as hell know how to say that “thing” to your spouse in the middle of an argument

You sure as hell take that “rest day” when you feel a little sore.

The key here is to make your triggers, trigger positive action. It’s a positive pivot.

The best thing you can do is put triggers in place that trigger the right things.

Put the book you need to read, on the pillow you put your head into at night.

Put your gym shoes right next to the laptop you take to work.

Put the protein shake next to the coffee machine the night before.

You likely struggle to make progress because you’re moving a needle that’s starting from zero.

From nothing.

Sorry if that hurts your feelings.

You need to move the needle to a place you feel deserving of what’s coming next.

You get excited about the idea of some thing, you begin to do it, and everything from your identity not lining up, to your self doubt, to your perceived criticism you’ll receive from changing up who you are.. Everything comes in and brings you back down to who you were.
Leaving you feeling lost and confused on how you ended up back here.

You need to make a switch where who you could become, matters more to you than who you currently are.

That’s when momentum pulls you,

that’s when you earn your good days,

that’s when you genuinely feel the day is off when you don’t do what you need to do.

You need to stop waiting for excitement, and just do common things with uncommon consistently.
