Eliminate Choice, For This Reason..
A couple things I learned from 75Hard,
Make commitments.
it’s hard to be tired knowing you have to workout..
Its hard to want a drink when you’ve committed to a gallon of water
its hard to want that kind of food when you know what food is coming next..
and not only make commitments that suit you,
make commitments that stretch you
just a little bit
just enough to know and spot
when those “cravings” kick in
you can pull yourself back..
Structure your decisions..
Structure your time..
Structure your decisions..
So that your emotion doesn’t have to..
Your feelings don’t have to..
So that you’re not asking, am I in the mood to do this?
Pause and ask yourself, is this in line with the commitment I made with myself?
and hey we’re not perfect here
maybe you don’t workout the second you recognize your tired..
byt you can still push that commitment to later in the day..
let me recuperate let me reset and rest.
And do this when I’m properly rested
but you know and can listen to yourself and be sure
by this time
by the end of today
this objective will have been completed..
And guess what
you build so much trust with yourself when you fulfill this
BUT
I will say,
you get around triple the trust points with yourself when
you do knock out a workout when you are tired
When you do what you said you would,
with a packed schedule..
when you act outside of your emotions and do the task at hand..
Then it’s your being,
your existence leading your behavior ,
and your body through your life
not the other way around.
To me, this is all a game of what you feel about yourself, when nobody else is around..
And how you fulfill the commitment to yourself, even when the world around you is pulling you in every direction possible..
The more you can eliminate the possibility, of slipping into impulse, and the more you can align yourself to choices that move you forward, the more votes casted in the way of who you wish to become..
