Why You Lead With Purpose

In the book Wild At Heart by John Eldredge,
He mentions men naturally seek,

A Battle to fight,

An Adventure to be had,

And A Beauty to rescue.

And the burning question were seeking to have answered through these avenues,

is “Am I enough?”

We’ll seek approval, through money, cars, muscles, tattoo’s, big dogs, shoes, jewelry, women, multiple women all to portray that we have that question answered.

Some of these, hit 1 or 2 of the 3 categories mentioned.

Most of them require an adventure to be had, to go and diet and see how shredded and jacked we can get. That’s our adventure.

With women, that is our beauty to rescue.

When a man gets older and picks up a sport, like I did with Golf, that is both a competitive environment with both a battle to be fought and an adventure to be had.

BUT, and here’s the big BUT.

When you lose sight of your purpose, when you don’t uphold your vision and values. When you no longer have a mission, an objective and you go into drifting (Read Outwitting The Devil by Napoleon Hill to know about how Drifting affects your life).

When you drift you end up going on adventures that are detrimental,

you fight battles with the wrong people,

you rescue beauty’s that are outside your home you’ve set up. You cheat.

Cheating hits all 3, it’s an “adventure”, something new. It’s a new beauty to rescue, you lack the fortitude to keep dating, adventuring your current relationship, which happens long before it shows up. You’ve been seeking a beauty to rescue, be honest. You then go into battle, you then find flaws, fight with your partner and the mission is to fight your way out, to find justification as to why you should be going elsewhere.

See what I mean?

A purpose driven man, maintains his objectives. He knows which Adventures are beneficial, He gets prepared for Battle, even though he won’t need it. Here’s yes his beauty daily, he nurtures and grows that connection.

Not the other way around.

If a man around you is losing his purpose, do what you can to help him get back on track.

If you’re that man, no need for me to say any more.
