WHY and WHO, matter more than HOW👇🏽

When we set out on a new venture,

Starting a business,

Losing weight,

Learning a new skill,

Starting a podcast,

Jumping into a new industry,

You get the deal..

We often first approach the “HOW”,

HOW am I gonna be successful at this?

HOW am I gonna lose all this weight?

HOW is this going to work?

HOW will I win in the end?

But the “HOW” isn’t even a necessary part of the success formula.. yet.

What I’ve found has helped me, is figuring out my “WHY”, and my “WHO”

My WHY gets me out of bed,

My WHY pulls (not pushes) me to create,

My WHY clears my distractions, and makes focusing fulfilling.

When I took my job with Bedros Keuilian, it was to learn the skills of Marketing and Sales, the ins and outs of business, and leadership.

Because I knew I was missing something, I knew the life I wanted and I knew that to unlock that life, I needed the skillset, AND the character traits to be the person worthy of my dreams.

That was my why, and I walked away with much more than I bargained for.

In the same vein,

Your WHO is just as important.

The reason your goal isn’t closer to you is it’s either a

  • Knowledge gap (You just don’t enough know about the subject)

  • Skill gap (You lack the skills to perform the required actions)

    or a

  • Willingness gap (You’re not willing to perform the actions due to belief, excitement, or length of time required)

What you truly need is access to the people with the right answers.

Other people can bridge the gaps for you.

And in terms of leverage OP (Other People) are the highest form of leverage to do that.

Would you rather spend 5-10 years trying to fill the knowledge gap in nutrition and exercise, or would you rather spend $800 on a coach who’s spent 15 years studying, replicating results for 100’s of people, and does the heavy lifting for you?

Plus a good coach will help with the other gaps as well.

Elon Musk when starting SpaceX, knew NOTHING about rockets and space travel..

But he knew he needed to solve a problem, a big problem.

He knew in order to extend human life, we needed to be multi-planetary.

He was playing a game that he might not even see the victory from in his own life time, but will be felt by his kids kids, and their grand kids, and so on.

    That’s a “Why”

And when it came to “Who”

He found the brightest Astrophysicists, Propulsion Engineers, and compelled them with his Why, and brought them on board to complete his mission.

He also read 1 book on the subject, “Fundamentals of Astro Physics”

In most cases, you don’t need to have all the answers, you don’t need to have the mightiest knowledge on a subject, you just need to find the people who do.

I write all this to say,

Your How will reveal itself when you have a compelling “Why”, and you have an idea of “Who” has the answers you’re looking for to the problems you’re looking to solve.
