Throttle Your Energy

This one is a must, and you have to actually try it for at least a day, and you will feel INSTANT RESULTS.

The hard part is wether the effectiveness will stay, and it’s all up to you.

I noticed this one from this Doctor I work for.

If you ever met him, the first thing to jump out is his energy.

The guy seems to move 100mph all day everyday.

Seriously, he’s nearly twice my age and he moves faster than possibly everybody I know.

Now you’d hear

“he’s so hyper”

“he just has a ton of energy”

But what if I told you it’s neither?

And he’d tell you this

It’s not being born with energy,

It’s not tons of coffee,

Its managing urgency

Now if you ever seen him relax, the guy loves to relax and it’s intentional.

That’s the most you can ask out of life, is that your relaxation is intentional.

There’s a balance, but more of that another time.

He’d tell you

Just do the thing you need to do, when you know you need to do it. Because the more you wait, the more you won’t want to do it. Do it before you feel your emotions of not wanting to do it.

And you guys probably think I’m talking about you know business calls, or patients, or doing only important things.

He’s like this with EVERYTHING, like

taking out the trash,

playing basketball with his son,

taking his car to the dealership,

little things all the way to big things.

You’ll see him relaxing, and then in an instant say “okay let’s go play outside, you said you wanted to play outside” to his son

and you can’t help but try to meet him with the energy.

So apply that to yourself,

does your energy make you the hardest worker the fastest mover in your life?
So much so, that others can’t help but want to keep up with your energy?
You might be thinking of who that is in your life and maybe wondered what it was about them that made you feel that, this is probably why.

So my understanding, is that nobody truly goes 100mph pedal to the floor all day,

BUT,

You can throttle your energy throughout the day, to urgently get things done, one by one, before you start the negotiations with yourself. Plus, you’d probably finish in the time it took to complain about it.

So tomorrow, make that list of things you know you NEED to do, and tomorrow do things differently, do it right there, do it right then,

and yes there will be little fires throughout the day, you’re not as much of a special circumstance as you’d think, there’s little fires in everybody’s life,

just quickly put them out.

Monitor how you feel after doing it the first time, and you’ll feel what I’m saying.

You’ve most likely done it before, when you had a deadline or a busy day but you had 1 or 2 or 3 things you REALLY wanted to do, you made the time.

So whatever it is,

do it urgently, to the best of your ability,

then as soon as you’re done, RELAX.

Then when your brain reminds you of that next thing, GET UP and press the gas,

until that next relaxation point.

And see how you feel at the end of the day,

see the difference in how you sleep that night,

I can think of this quote that says

“Earn your sleep”

or the way I look at it,

you’re in a really good place, when sleep feels like it gets in the way of your days.

Suit up, take a breath, crack those knuckles and get to work.
