My “Black Square”

IMG_9856.jpeg

I’m lost..

I’m spending my time listening..

I can only imagine, what it’s like to be black during this time, or ever, and we’re being showed time and time again, the struggles and hardships of being black, that we tend to overlook. Chances are, I’ll never really know what it’s like.

Now, Im never one to state the obvious, it’s very clear we are all saddened and disturbed by the MURDER that took place.

And what it signifies, as another name on long list of undeserved deaths of another black person.

It’s not right, I believe it’s wrong, we all believe its wrong, and if you don’t see that as wrong you have a fucking huge mental problem.

But the things that have taken place after, I’m confused as far as what to address because it seems everything that goes up has a small tiny angle somewhere, that it’s wrong, or pushes a different agenda than intended.

I know this though, I never want to be a puppet to anybody, and I think you feel the same.

I am so for protesting and believe it symbolizes the unity needed amongst HUMANS, but I also hear the side of “they don’t listen to peaceful. We’ve tried peaceful and it didn’t work, etc.” I see it and feel that.

I don’t condone rioters, but I understand. You need to be heard.

I don’t condone looters at all and believe they are opportunistic thief’s, but on top of that, it’s apparently a small group of actual looters that come and wreck everything, and then proceed to leave it for the peaceful protestors and community people to clean up after, AND THEN THE PROTESTORS RECEIVE THE BLAME FOR IT, that’d make me infuriated.

It’s hard to even separate who’s agenda this destruction is, there’s footage of cops and undercover’s destroying things, and cops moving in on peaceful protestors with force.

There was the whole, BlackoutTuesday, thing that turned out to be cutting out the vital info shared to help us.

It’s hard to see who’s agenda we all fall into, Andy Frisella brings up, the statement

Divide and Conquer,

But we need to really be clear on who’s being divided, and who’s doing the conquering.

There’s funds to donate to, some I can see the intention to donate to, with a great cause behind an organization, and some I don’t agree with, like the “Bail Funds” going around, the lines are too blurred to see who receives the funds and like I said before I don’t condone looters, and if I cannot see clearly where a donation goes, I can’t go through, personally.

What I do wholeheartedly plan to donate to, is the GoFundMe in place to go directly to Gianna Floyd, George Floyd’s daughter. 100%.

Before all of my black friends and anybody I’ve come across, I Am Sorry..

I am sorry it is this way, and I will influence my immediate circle to the best of my ability, to instill change. I believe that is all I can immediately do, to the highest impact, currently.

I want to tell this story, familiarized to me by Andy Frisella,

In the early 1900’s, a famous English author, named G.K. Chesterton , received a letter from the Editor of The London Times, one of the biggest newspapers across the world, asking to reply to this one simple question -

What is wrong with the world today?

This letter was sent to many many famous authors and journalists around the world, but Chesterson’s stood out,

Chesterson wrote back, and the reply only had 2 words, that I’m going to read to you, it said

Dear sir,

I am.

Sincerely,

G.K. Chesterson

Now imagine if every police officer, every politician, every leader, every victim, every privileged, everyone with a platform, everyone who speaks within even a small circle, everyone with kids, took on this mentality.

And instead of dismissing or blaming, we all look within ourselves to speak out against injustices when you see them, and not tolerate racial discrimination or prejudice, and try to become the solution to others problems.

If you’re reading this and are thinking, “but I have no power, I have no influence..”

It starts with you, be the person, and it spreads to the person you speak to next, and the next, and guess what, when people see that, you’ll be an example, and others will work to support you in your effort.

This is hard, it’s difficult, this isn’t new, but it requires we do things different, and it starts from here, and you, and then your circle and so on and so forth.

This is a cultural, societal rewriting, to help end this injustice against one of our own, within the human race.

That’s my fucking plan, that’s my “black square”.
